The Elago M3 is definitely one of most beautiful phone stands I’ve ever seen. The unique wood and aluminum combination makes for a simplistic and elegant design. This stand comes in three colors, Silver, Gold, and Black.
The stand is made up of two parts, the aluminum base, and the wood cradle.
As you can see, there is a groove in the wood cradle which allows it to sit in place by itself. One thing I don’t like about the cradle is that it’s a bit wobbly and can sometimes make it harder to unplug your phone from it.
As you have probably noticed by now, the back of the aluminum base is very long. This is so the stand won’t tip when you put larger devices on it. Surprisingly, it works very well and makes it reasonably hard to tip over. I know I called it a phone stand before, but it can actually support any device as big as an iPad Mini.
Another awesome feature is the rubber grip pads on the bottom. Trust me, these aren’t the cheap kind, they get a good grip on just about any flat surface you give it.
The last feature is the wide opening in the cradle for cables. This allows you to use many different cables that are many different sizes for many different phones. The only drawback to this wide opening is when you unplug your phone, the cable can fall through the opening which can be a little annoying to get out. I also wish this stand had a way to hold the cable in place so you can plug and unplug your phone without ever having to hold the cable.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, I think this stand is very beautiful and high quality, but the function just isn’t quite there. I think if the wood was permanently mounted to the aluminum and the cable was held in place, this stand would be outstanding. Because of those two drawbacks, I would have to give this stand a solid 7.5/10.
