In my opinion, the Jackery Titan is one of the best portable batteries money can buy. This beast packs a solid 18,000 mAh charging capacity, and only costs $35.00.
The very first thing I noticed when taking this out of the box was its weight. This battery weighs almost 1 pound. Don’t get me wrong, this battery is SOLID. I personally enjoy the weight because it gives me the feeling of a higher quality product, which it is. The sleek aluminum body also gives it a great look and feel. The aluminum body also makes this battery more durable. Although I don’t recommend it, you can toss this battery around carelessly, and not have to worry about damaging or scratching it.
This portable battery has not one, but TWO charging ports. Yes, folks, you can charge two devices at once with this battery. It comes with two 5V output ports that are 1 A and 2.4 A. You charge the battery with the micro USB cable which comes with the battery. It’s nice for Jackery to include the micro USB cord, but I wish it was longer.
To the left is a chart of the charge cycles for each device. A full charge cycle means getting your device from 0 to 100%. For example, it says that you will get 7.0 full charge cycles on an iPhone 6s. This means you can charge your iPhone 6s seven times from 0 to 100%. To get the full charge cycles, you can’t be using your device while it’s plugged in. I love traveling with this battery because I can use my device for an entire week without having to plug it into an outlet. Because the Jackery Titan has such a large capacity, it takes a little while for itself to charge. It took me about 11 hours to charge the Jackery Titan from 0 to 100%. If you’re planning on traveling with this, I recommend you charge it the night before you leave. Did you know that this battery is smart? There is a little chip inside which shuts off the charging when it’s full. It also knows when the device plugged in becomes full and shuts off. This is a great feature because it doesn’t waste battery and it keeps your device safe. Surprisingly, the Jackery Titan doesn’t get very hot when using it.
One last feature is the Blue LED indicator lights. These lights indicate how much charge your Jackery battery has left. If all 4 LED’s are lit, that means the Jackery has between 75-100% of charge left. If there is 3 LED’s lit, the Jackery has 50-75% of charge left. I’m sure you can guess the rest of the pattern for the other lights. When you are charging the Jackery battery, the blue lights blink indicating it’s charging.
Final Thoughts
For $35.00, the Jackery Titan is one of my favorite portable batteries. It’s safe, smart, and gets the job done. I love taking it on trips because I can charge my iPhone and iPad simultaneously. This battery is also great to have in the event of a power outage. My only complaint about this battery is its weight. Other than that, it’s perfect in every way.
